While there were distinct economic differences, population differences, great differences over political issues, cultural and class differences, and even education differences between the North and South, ALL these and more that distinctly divided the North from the South had to do with slavery. How did Slave Labor in the South and Free Labor in the North contribute to these societal differences?
2. Choose one of the opponents to Slavery discussed in the documentary on the Civil War and their contributions that helped lead the nation into War.
3. How was Reconstruction a 2nd Civil War? Describe Andrew Johnson’s actions during Presidential Reconstruction that angered the Radical Republicans. How did Congressional Reconstruction, 1867-1877, overcome and nullify Johnson’s ineffective Reconstruction ambitions?
