Article Critique 2 Fresh grounds for coffee.pdf

To help you develop into an informed consumer of food and nutrition information, you have been provided with the opportunity to read and review a newspaper article and critically analyze it. Usually new articles tend to take information from a single research study and create headlines to grab our attention. Single research studies rarely give you the whole the picture. We tend to read the newspaper article and never the original research. This is your chance to remedy that. You have been provided with both the newspaper article and original research, on which the news was based.
Your responses should be approximately two pages, essay form, and submitted via this Carmen Dropbox. Evaluation will be based on the thoroughness and insightfulness of your response. Use the following questions as a guide and make sure that your response addresses all of them. We (the graders and I) will provide critical feedback and we expect that everyone will improve as the semester progresses.
For Critiques 2:
Answer questions 1-3 as if you had access only to the newspaper article.
What are the main claims stated in the newspaper article? Are there any additional claims implied? If so, what are they?
What are the weak and strong points of the study being described in the newspaper article?
Do you have a complete picture of the study and its conclusions. If you don’t, what additional questions would you like to ask the researchers? What other information would you like to know or do you feel is missing to fully analyze the accuracy of the reported information?
