Bioethics
Write a discussion topic centring upon the material that is being addressed in the corresponding tutorial/lectures. The aim of the discussion post is to engage with class mates too, regarding the topics. I’ll attach today’s lecture slides and the reading materials as well for references.
So to give you some guidance, you could:
1) Question the readings and the positions outlined in the readings/lectures.
2) Discuss problems arising from the discussions.
3) Challenge each other’s perspectives and offer your own.
4) Discuss problems with your understanding of the literature/content from lectures.
5) Come up with your own perspective on the best way forward regarding a particular ethical issue.
As a reminder, for this tutorial block the kinds of topics that we covered in the readings and lecture included:
A) How to differentiate ethical statements from other kinds of statements.
B) What marks out an ethical situation.
C) What Kantianism is and how it operates as an ethical system.
D) The difference between Kant and Kantianism.
Note that the above are just memory prompts, and more was discussed than this. Please take A-D as a starting position for a discussion.
