Stock Article 1pages On Disneyland
Turn in the text and bibliographical information for one brief article that contains information about events or circumstances that likely influenced the value of the stock of one of the companies in the portfolio during the eight weeks Julia owned it. You will cite information from this article in your report to Julia to help explain why the value of the stock in that company changed. Be sure to collect the following bibliographic information for the article because you will include this information in the report—
The title of the article
The title of the magazine, journal, newspaper, etc (online or hard copy), where you found the article
The author
The date of publication
The page number, if available, in the publication where the article is found
The URL if you find the article online.
If you find the article on a Web site, be sure the source is credible. The grade for this assignment will be influenced by the credibility of the article.
2.. Assume you work for an investment company, and a client, Julia Eastman, wanted you to purchase 100 shares of stock for her eight weeks ago, in each of eight different companies, for a total of 800 shares of stock.
Select eight companies for her portfolio (collection of stocks she owns) that are listed on the New York Exchange (NYSE), and find the closing value of each company and for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) on the first Monday. (Go to finance.yahoo.com to find company stock values. To find values for past dates, search for the company and then click on the “Historical Prices” button on the left side of the page).
For the assignment, name the stock values on the first day, the purchase values, and post the information you collect in a table similar to the one below, created from data gathered a few years ago. Note that the DJIA value is posted below the table because it is not a dollar value, as are the other values in the table.
You may submit this table in a Word document, an Excel spreadsheet, or PDF. The easiest thing to do might be to create the table in Google Drive and save it as a PDF.

3.Stock Weekly Values Table—Collect the closing market value for each company in your stock-purchase table and for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) after the stock market closes (4 p.m. MST) each Monday for the past eight weeks—you will have eight values for each company. You (as a group) may decide what day to begin and what day to end. Post this collected information in a table similar to the one below, created from data collected several years ago. The table will be graded on professional appearance and content.
You will use the weekly values table to draw information from to include in your report to your client, Julia Eastman, about how her stock performed during the time she owned it.
In the table below, Week 1 lists the purchase values, and Week 8 lists the selling values. Note that the DJIA is an index number and not a dollar value and so is not written using a dollar sign.
