Your essay should include the following:

An introduction in the following order:
hook, general statement, question about one of the issues (racism, education, reading, etc) in the two texts.
Introduction of text and author A. Name them and briefly (one or two sentences) explain what’s happening in the text.
Introduction of text and author B Name them and briefly (one or two sentences) explain what’s happening in the text.
Thesis–succinctly list the two similarities and two differences in a sentence:
While author A and author B come from similar economic backgrounds and suffer discrimination, each has a different attitude and degree of support.
Body paragraphs–you should have 4–each one should cover a similarity or a difference and have a topic sentence that states the specific similarity or difference, quotes and analysis of both authors, citations and transitional phrases (follow the notes)
Conclusion–restate the thesis in different words and then offer some general ideas.
