Esther

Part I:  Who is Esther?  Is she useful to the Qulturum learning process?  If so, how and if not, why not?   Part II:  Use the Unintended Consequences Worksheet found on p 221 of your main text and apply Esther’s heathcare journey to it.  Kenney gives you some insight into her hospital experience so with your own creative license, imagination, and insights into the flow of a specific process within a hospital journey, select that process and to the best of your ability and knowledge, complete the exercise found on p 220.  Do not submit the form as it appears on p 221; simply create 6 bullet points using Exercise 11.2  column titles plus the additional unintended consequences you foresee for the process you’ve chosen and follow the directions found on p 220.  Use Esther as your hypothetical patient. The purpose of the exercise is not to test your clinical knowledge, the purpose is to get you to think through a work flow process, to imagine the steps in that process and then identify who/what might be involved and how those process steps create the relationships and system integration that you’ve been studying this semester.  If the process you choose is dysfunctional, that’s fine too – just explain it in your bullet points and unintended consequences.  You can use any of the examples/case studies from either book to fuel your imagination or pull something from Kenney’s description of how Esther’s journey was used by the folks at Qulturum.
