The purpose of this exam is for you to demonstrate the skills you’ve learned in KNR 176, Computer Applications in Recreation. This exam is worth 50 points and is due to ReggieNet by 12pm (noon) on Friday, December 11th.
Here is the scenario: You’ve been asked to give a presentation at a conference on the topic of “Online marketing and communications for beginners”. Your goal is to share your best tips and tricks for communication through a variety of online mediums. I would suggest focusing on how to use Canva, how messaging differs across different social media platforms, and other tips and tricks to make online communications more professional and efficient (think URLs, Google Forms or Google Drive, QR codes, etc). Take a look at the PowerPoints from the second half of the semester for help with content.
Please submit the following:
1. A copy of the presentation in PowerPoint or Prezi.
a. This should include notes in the notes section of each slide on what you will cover.
b. Please use skills you’ve learned in PowerPoint or Prezi! For example: add a graph, use the design tool,
use a theme, be consistent, check your spelling, embed a video!
c. The PowerPoint/Prezi should have enough content for a 10-15-minute presentation.
2. A short paragraph description of your presentation that will be included in the conference booklet. Explain what your presentation will be about so that people can decide whether or not to attend. Submit in Microsoft Word.
3. A short biography of the presenter (you). Submit in Microsoft Word. Please write the biography in third person.
For example, “Olivia is a professor at Illinois State University, she…”.
A successful proposal will go above and beyond the requirements listed above and show off some of the skills you’ve learned throughout KNR 176. You should utilize your textbook and consider adding in extra components to your Word documents and PowerPoint/Prezi. Try to add things you’ve learned this semester!
