Medias effect on children
Respond to both of the following Critical Thinking Questions: 1. Which theoretical frameworks (aka. lenses) introduced in the first four chapters of our textbook have been – implicitly or explicitly – used by the film’s analysis of media impact on children and youth? In other words: Which frameworks serve as the film’s theoretical foundation, even when they are not explicitly spelled out in the film? Discuss two or three theoretical frameworks that you consider particularly relevant to the analysis that the film provides. Explain the ways in which the frameworks inform the film, and apply the terminology developed by those frameworks. 2. The documentary film was released in 2008. Based on textbook chapters 1-5, how has our media environment evolved since then? Identify recent media developments you consider particularly relevant to young media users, as well as the theoretical framework of your analysis.
