Propose A Solution(How to solve homeless problem in Maricopa)

My problem is homeless population rising in Maricopa County. My audience will be all the citizens residing in Maricopa County. Arizona as a whole already has an emergency home shelter and section 8 apartments for the homeless. But there is plenty of homeless people still out here living in our streets. My concern is about homeless people is no matter what the consequences led them to being homeless, nobody deserves to be living outside like animal. My solution is a build up a system, to transform them into being a responsible adult. That being said the system will contain of intoxication of any substance abuse, and an education for them to learn. Then we will provide housing meanwhile they are on that process. After completing that successfully we will guide them in getting a house on their own. If they choose not to go this route then the choice will be jail.

Continue exploring the problem that you’ve been working with for the last two writing assignments. Now, you will propose a solution to this problem and present it to a select audience via the genre of your choosing.

Your solution should be something NEW to your local community, or a significant improvement on an attempt that failed in the past. Perhaps you have an idea for a program, technology, or app that doesn’t yet exist. Or, maybe there is something out there in its infancy that you want to move forward.

There are many ways to approach the research, including looking at other communities that have viable solutions to the same problem. Maybe that solution would also work in your city, neighborhood, workplace, school, or home?

Important Considerations

Of all of the members in your local community, who is most able to incite change and bring your solution to life?
What genre is most appropriate for reaching this individual or group?
What does this audience need to know about the problem, before I present my solution?
How will you incorporate rhetorical appeals–ethos, pathos, logos–to convince your audience to accept your proposal?
How can you recognize and refute potential opposition?

Basic Requirements

2,000 total words (NOT including Works Cited page or multimodal components)
A minimum of ten total citations from at least five credible sources (e.g. book, magazine, newspaper, online journal, film, speech, interview, etc.); be sure to include both scholarly and reliable, local source materials.
A minimum of three informative, multimodal components (i.e. charts, graphs, maps, etc.)
Consult AWR or Purdue OWL

for proper MLA formatting (in-text citations + Works Cited page).
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must earn at least a C on the proposal in order to pass ENG 102, regardless of other points earned.

Genre Ideas

For this proposal, select a genre that is more formal than what you may have selected for the first project and different from the second. An academic essay is not likely a genre that we would use for most audiences in a real-world, local context. Consider one of the following:

A business letter
A memo
An email
An article
A pamphlet/brochure
A newsletter
A manual
A website
