As you begin your readings (please do not post until you complete this week’s reading assignments and seen our videos) and begin thinking about your Discussion post, I would like to offer you some items that you should consider including in your response.


Remember, this product could be imaginary or one you are thinking of, or even working on. Keep in mind that our posts are not confidential:


• who are you, company name (be personable when you introduce yourself: engage)

• why are you here

• tell me my problem that you want to solve

• introduce your hook

• tell a story; use empathy, get me interested

• describe your product or service

• mention it’s differentiating advantages

• make up data and statistics: is the product in production; is the service being offered; how many have you already sold, costs, profits, revenue, where (city, state, countries); how is it being used; consumer excitement, etc.

• mention how you used ethos, pathos, and logos

• tell me what you will do with the money you get from me, i.e. build the item or App, more marketing, build a factory, speed up production, hire more people, etc.

• describe your persuasive approach/technique and why you chose it

• don’t forget the ask or call to action: how much money you want and what percentage of the business you are offering

• also, don’t forget to say thank you and offer your contact information at the end


Remember, you have 1-2 minutes to make your “elevator pitch”.


This is an imaginary scenario, so use your imagination with the product or service you have invented.
