ENG/200: Rhetoric And Research
Wk 3 Discussion – Strategies and Organization [due Thurs]
Wk 3 Overview
Wk 3 – Rough Draft [due Mon]
Discussion Topic
Post a total of 3 substantive responses over 2 separate days for full participation. This includes your initial post and 2 replies to other students or your faculty member. All three posts must be at least 150 words.
Due Thursday
This week is your first chance to create a draft of your argument and share the good ideas from the research you’ve gathered. Write a response to the following in a minimum of 150 words:
What is your main argument for your paper? What rhetorical strategies (ethos, pathos, logos) will you use to convince readers that your position is correct? What do you think it means to be an objective writer?
How can you effectively include subjective ideas in your writing and remain unbiased?
What prewriting strategies, previous assignments, or approaches will you use to get started and integrate research?
Due Monday
Reply to at least 2 of your classmates and/or your instructor in at least 150 words per post. Be constructive and professional in your responses. Don’t just compliment and say “I agree!” and reiterate everything in the post you’re responding to. Introduce new ideas, thoughts, and examples to further expand the scope of conversation.
Remember
Discussion posts are timestamped and automatically tallied according to week. If you make a post before the week starts or after a week is over, it will not be counted for credit.
