Select a topic from the list below to create a list of twelve sources for a bibliography.
Go into the HCC library digital database.
Search for a total of ten sources from the HCC library digital database that could be used for a research paper. There must be two books, two articles from scholarly journals, two magazines articles, two newspaper articles, and two media sources (films or voice recordings).
Then go onto the internet and find two reliable web sources about your topic. Do not use (.com) sources because they are commercial sources whose goal is to make money and thus will not show professional objectivity. Instead use (.edu), (.gov), or (.org) sources. Before finalizing your selection of any web sources, review their “About Us” tab and conduct a search of their authority and impartiality on their topic. Ask yourself: who benefits from this website’s information? What source of authority oversees their factual content? What is the purpose of the website? Does it promote dangerous, false, or exaggerated ideas? If your source proves to be reliable and scholarly, use it for your works cited page (bibliography list). (Any sources on your list that appear to be inappropriate for scholarship will be evaluated by the instructor for appropriateness for scholarship. Any sources deemed unacceptable for scholarship will be disqualified and reduce the grade of the assignment.)
