You are required to write a reflection paper for either Becoming Ms. Burton or Writing My Wrongs, but not both. Your reflection paper should be between 5-6 pages in length, no smaller than 11 point font, no larger than 12 point font, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins, double-spaced.
In the paper you should provide a description of your overall reaction to the book you choose. Your paper should NOT only summarize the book details, but should provide enough information so that I can tell you read the book. Here are some ideas to get you started: After reading the novel, did any of your views change about victimization and the victim and offender experience? Did you have any preconceived notions that changed about trauma? How important is it for those involved with, and working in, the criminal justice system to know about trauma and its impact on victims, offenders, and professional working in the system? These are example questions to get you thinking. You can frame your reflections around other things that were important to you as you read as well.
In addition to your reactions using information from the book and other course materials (e.g. The Deepest Well, Trauma Stewardship and other articles) to inform your answers (a minimum of 2), you must also research at least 3 new additional scholarly articles to help you inform your paper. Scholarly sources for this assignment means peer-reviewed journal articles. No newspaper, magazine, government reports or case law, etc. You do not need to describe the articles in detail. You may only end up using small parts of the information contained in the article to support your views.
You should cite using APA style within your paper, and provide full references of the additional articles at the end of the paper. Grades will be reduced for papers that do not meet the minimum page length requirement, papers with excessive typos, poor writing, excessive quotes, and inadequate content.
